Privacy Policy

Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have when using STRIDE Race Guide.

Welcome to STRIDE Race Guide (strideraceguide.com), operated by [STRIDE Race Guide LLC]. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, share, and protect your personal information when you visit our website, sign up for our newsletter, submit a form, make a payment, or otherwise interact with STRIDE Race Guide.

Throughout this policy, "STRIDE," "we," "us," and "our" refer to STRIDE Race Guide and its operators. "You" and "your" refer to you, the individual accessing or using the website.

We believe in transparency and plain language. We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not store your credit card or payment details. We only collect what we need to operate the site, deliver our services, and communicate with you.

By using STRIDE Race Guide, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any part of this policy, please do not use our website.

Section 1

Who We Are

STRIDE Race Guide is a race discovery platform that helps runners, triathletes, and endurance athletes find marathons, ultramarathons, trail runs, triathlons, and other running events across the United States. We publish a searchable race directory, editorial content, and a weekly newsletter for the endurance community.

STRIDE Race Guide is not a race registration platform. We do not process race entries or collect registration fees on behalf of event organizers. When you click a registration link on our site, you are directed to a third-party website operated by the race organizer or their registration provider.

If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or your personal data, you can reach us at rachel@strideraceguide.com.

Section 2

Information We Collect

We collect information in three ways: information you provide directly, information collected automatically when you visit the site, and information we may receive from third-party services.

Information You Provide

When you interact with STRIDE Race Guide through forms, signups, or payments, you may provide the following information voluntarily:

  • Newsletter Signup: When you subscribe to the STRIDE newsletter through our Beehiiv-powered signup forms, we collect your email address. Our newsletter uses a double opt-in process, meaning you must confirm your subscription via email before you begin receiving newsletters.
  • Contact Form: When you submit our contact form (processed via FormSubmit.co), we collect your name, email address, phone number (if provided), and the content of your message.
  • Race Listing Submissions: When a race director or organizer submits a race for listing on STRIDE Race Guide (processed via FormSubmit.co), we collect the race name, date, location, description, distances, registration link, and contact information for the submitter.
  • Partnership Inquiries: When you submit a partnership inquiry form (processed via FormSubmit.co), we collect your company name, contact name, email address, and details about the proposed partnership.
  • Featured Listing Payments: When you purchase a Featured listing ($99), payment is processed securely through Stripe. STRIDE Race Guide does not collect, store, or have access to your credit card number, debit card number, or full payment details. Stripe handles all payment processing in accordance with their own privacy policy and PCI-DSS compliance standards. We receive only a confirmation of payment, a transaction ID, and the email address associated with the payment.

Information Collected Automatically

When you visit STRIDE Race Guide, certain information is collected automatically through cookies, server logs, and analytics tools:

  • Server Logs: Our hosting provider, Webflow, automatically records standard server log information when you visit the site. This may include your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referring URL, pages visited, date and time of your visit, and time spent on each page.
  • Cookies: We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to improve your browsing experience and understand how visitors use the site. See Section 5 (Cookies and Tracking Technologies) for more detail.
  • Analytics: We may use Google Analytics or similar analytics services to collect aggregated data about site traffic, user behavior, and demographics. This data helps us understand which pages are popular, how visitors find our site, and how we can improve the user experience.

Information from Third Parties

We may receive limited information from third-party services we use to operate the site:

  • Beehiiv: Our newsletter platform may provide us with aggregated analytics about newsletter open rates, click rates, and subscriber engagement. This data is typically anonymized or aggregated.
  • Stripe: Our payment processor may share transaction confirmations, payment status, and the email address associated with a payment. Stripe does not share your full payment card details with us.
  • Webflow: Our hosting platform may provide aggregated site performance and traffic data.

Section 3

  • To Operate the Site: Displaying race listings, publishing editorial content, and maintaining the functionality and performance of STRIDE Race Guide.
  • To Deliver Our Newsletter: Sending you the STRIDE weekly newsletter with race picks, travel tips, guides, and curated content. You will only receive newsletters if you have completed the double opt-in process.
